New MGS game to be revealed in “a few weeks”… for iPhone

Kojima’s confirmed that the next Metal Gear game will be revealed “literally in a few weeks,” as you can see speaking in an interview at the VGAs on Sunday – watch it after the break – but is appears Famitsu wanted to hurry things along a little.

It’s an iPhone game, apparently, due for release in spring 2009. It’s not for 360. There’s a scan of the Famitsu page on Wii @ Everyday.

It’s a shooter, and will use MGS4′s “worldview,” according to that NeoGAF post.

The Xbox massive won’t be pleased. More soon.

It’s confirmed. There’s a few screens at the top of the site.

Yeah Blerk, 360 owners can revert to saying how they’d never go near a Metal Gear Solid game again. Normality restored.

You’ve got to hand it to that guy. Looks like he was the only commenter to consider *all* the possibilities instead of the most obvious and incorrect one. :D

we already got mgs on the psp; now the iphone; why not a nintendo ds version? the last version nintendo saw was a game boy color mgs years ago. surley with the huge install base of the DS, mgs would make millions for them….. i guess this escapes hideo kojima and all his brillance!

I think it’s more of a case of Kojima Productions wanting some royalties for each game, money that Nintendo is unwilling to detract from it’s money mountain income. ;)

@ XDamage

yeah actually that does make alot of sense; well lets hope when DSi launches they have a change of heart. I think a ds version would offer some interesting gameplay…..
