Home to get connection patch on Thursday

homea8.jpg

The Dog’s posted on the EU PS boards to confirm that Home will be patched on Thursday in an effort to get rid of the now infamous C-931 connection errors.

The app’s been plagued by the problem since it launched. The SCEE mod described the update as the “first step” in eradicating the issue.

Not had any problems here – user since Oct closed beta. But does look forward to fixes to help out a community to be a community.
Certainly a few delays in logging in is better than a system wide network failure a la Live last Xmas and it’s better than bricking systems a la NXE

It takes me 10 tries (on average) before being able to log in. And then I get thrown out after a random period (with different error codes). Beyond the network connection problems it’s a smooth experience though. No lag or popup.

I only tried two times, but since there’s nothing much to do yet I don’t think I’ll be back until some purpose is being put in. I still like the idea and I do think it has potential, but right now it doesn’t feel as being part of the OS, like Live is. It’s something you need to start up seperately, like a game. Compared to a game it has little excitement to offer, so I do understand the overall dissapointment. But it’s work in progress.

It takes me up to 20 tries before being able to log into “Home”. :( (c-931 errors)
But so far I have never been kicked out of the service even after being online for several hours.

@ thuko
Yes, “Home” doesn’t feel as being part of the OS. And as you say, it’s something you need to start up seperately, like a game. But I don’t agree on the point that “Home” has little excitement to offer. I think it’s the BEST platform to virtually meet people and have a good chat. Maybe it’s just me but I had some really fantastic and engaging encounters on “Home”.
