Hol. Y. Shit: Star Wars: The Old Republic gameplay footage is amazing

Amazing? Hum, well the gfx look better in motion (atleast some parts), other then that it looks pretty basic compaired to other MMO’s, some interesting stuff was said though, would be good to see some of that in action.

Yup. Looks awful. “For the first time in an MMO your choices matter!” = “Err, well in each zone there are quests that either involve killing bad guys and bringing back their teeth to the quest giver, or alternatively a quest that involves killing good guys and bringing back their teeth.”

I think using the word ‘story’ replaces the word ‘grind’. I was unimpressed by the 3 seconds of footage and since the announcement, my expectations for this slide down the scale – today, its way off the scale. Not on my shopping list.

I agree that the footage doesn’t look particularly good, but given that it’s Bioware, and given what they said in that developer footage, I’d be very surprised if this game didn’t turn out good. This’ll get rave reviews I reckon, and it’ll be the second biggest MMO on the market.

They’re working with the Hero engine so the retro-graphics style will prolly be compensated with the easy tools and sheer content.

You know, this isn’t going to be a MMORPG from what I’ve read. Notice that none of the developers ever say MMORPG (correct me if i’m wrong).

Which means loads of instancing and perhaps micro charging.
