Prototype’s CES assets leak early, get ‘em while they’re still here

According to Joystiq’s crack team, the official website of Activision’s open-world Crackdown-killer, Prototype, sprung a little leak. Joystiq, then, being from the Internet, quickly smuggled a few new, possibly illicit screenshots and movies back to its den.
However, we have no way of confirming the slip-up, as Activision seems to have caulked it up pretty quickly – replacing the leaked assets with a countdown timer.
Odds are, Activision will attempt to re-gobble these mistakenly regurgitated movies and screenshots – which we’re designating as “the best things you’ll see all day” – before too long, so go check them out!

That looks interesting.
The bouncing bit out of crackdown, the scaling of buildings and flinging people into helicopters as in the Hulk, and the ‘flying’ bits out of spiderman. Sweet.

It’s a staple super-hero sandbox game, and done well those can be some of the best gaming around. A lot of it looks like a high-res City of Heroes, to be honest, but that’s by no means a bad thing.

I had a good look back in Spain earlier this year and it did look great: especially when you hijack a helicopter and morph into the pilot Terminator 2 style.

Did we see the same game? The stuff that came out of Spain looked bollocks.

I didn’t see any limbs coming off dead people. Where are my NARC-like volumes of flying limbs?
I gave Crackdown 3/10 based on its lack of flying limbs.

Blerk = weirdo.
You thought leaping off a building to hijack a helicopter was bollocks?

No, the idea sounds fun. It was just the implementation that was cack.
