53% of all American adults play games, says survey

A Pewinternet survey has found that 53 percent of all American adults play videogames.

The report - which sampled over 2,000 people - also concluded that 23 percent of those aged 65 and over play games. Which sounds a little odd.

The results:

The percentage of Americans in each demographic category who report playing games online or offline, using a computer, cell phone or any other kind of gaming device:

All adults - 53%

Men - 55%
Women - 50%

Aged 18-29 - 81%
Aged 30-49 - 60%
Aged 50-64 - 40%
Aged 65+ - 23%
