53% of all American adults play games, says survey
A Pewinternet survey has found that 53 percent of all American adults play videogames.
The report – which sampled over 2,000 people – also concluded that 23 percent of those aged 65 and over play games. Which sounds a little odd.
The results:
The percentage of Americans in each demographic category who report playing games online or offline, using a computer, cell phone or any other kind of gaming device:
All adults – 53%
Men – 55%
Women – 50%Aged 18-29 – 81%
Aged 30-49 – 60%
Aged 50-64 – 40%
Aged 65+ – 23%

my dad’s 67 and he plays games. I think he’s just finished Rainbow Six Vagas 2… and now he’s on Far Cry 2

My dad used to play games when I was a kid but not anymore. The last games he played was Warcraft 2 and C&C.
I did try to get him back into gaming and he seemed to enjoy Quake 3 for awhile but it had all moved on and he couldn’t keep up with the newer RTS games.

My dad used to play games up until a few years ago. I don’t know why he stopped, he just doesn’t want to play any anymore.
He played the likes of Medal of Honour Allied Assault. I’m pretty sure that, when he gets his new PC at Christmas, he’ll be getting Call of Duty 4 or 5 (or both). Which will be fun, I can kick his ass at that too.

My dad plays FPS and only FPS. Well, apart from Spider and Solitaire. He’s 65. COD, Bioshock, Half Life, FEAR (his favourite): he loves them all.
Amusingly, the Wii leaves him cold. He’s totally hardcore.

23 and playing since my first NES? does that count?
for all i know, when i get a kid (boy/girl), im gonna make em play videogames for sure haha.
when i buy a house later on, i already have planned my game room!

I’m a dad, 42 years old, and i beat my son on fifa09 all the time, he is 14,i finish metal gear and the new tomb raider a week a go and i hope to play for 20 years more
