Paradox confirms Majesty 2 for 360

In an interview with SI, Paradox Interactive vice president Frederik Wester has confirmed that Majesty 2 – The Fantasty Kingdom sim will be coming to Xbox 360 and at least one handheld.

“Yes, we are currently developing the game on consoles,” said Wester. “This is a new experience to us so we can’t go into details yet.”

“The Xbox 360 is the console we have in mind at the moment, hopefully we will have something for at least one handheld console as well.”

What is it, though? I asked this on EG yesterday and nobody seemed to have even heard of it.

It’s a medieval fantasy sim, you don’t actually have real RTS controls as you need to encourage heroes to take on monsters by putting out flags on the terrain (for each flag you assign a gold reward) while at the same time you’re managing a small settlement.

The original was a cult classic in the sense that it was a very atmospheric (oh the music), funny and rather cute game. The actual game mechanics could have used some work though (a bit more control would have been welcome for example) but the new developers for Majesty 2 are adressing these issues I think.
