Maybe its because I’m half asleep but how can 148 Million ‘current gen’ consoles be connected to the internet when only 110 million are signed up to XBL, PSN or Wii Online? is there another way to get the 360, PS3 or Wii online?

I think they mean connected to the specific service in latter paragraph and connect to the general Internet will be 148. It is possible to surf the web on the PS3 without having a PSN account for instance.
