The GameStop page is showing GTA IV DLC The Lost and Damned as a boxed product for $20.
Apparently the packaging will include “a 2 sided poster and an Xbox LIVE Marketplace token card. The token card will contain a unique code to purchase The Lost and Damned over the Xbox LIVE Marketplace.”
There’s no disc inside the pack: just the token to get the DLC. And you’ll need to have the original game to download it, obviously.
$20, eh?

$20? so thats about 1600 MS Points?
More than I had hoped but definatley believeable.

1600 is more than you had hoped??? Do you even realise that this is supposed to be a proper expansion? Something like 2100 points would be standard for this kind of thing, 1600 would be a bargain. It’s NOT an arcade game we’re talking about here.
(Btw, I’m not buying it anyway, because GTA4 was the first GTA that really bored me)

A curious idea to say the least. If you’re going to put a package in the shops to grab the attention of people who don’t usually buy stuff online, why not just put a bloody disc in it as well?

I played this yesterday to see how it ran on the HDD… all was good but I’d forgotten just how ugly the “paint filter” was. Going to be hard for me to ignore that for the DLC.

“Paint filter”?

Look at the trees in this pic as they show it the most: http://xbox360media.ign.com/xbox360/image/article/857/857730/grand-theft-auto-iv-20080307105151469.jpg
I didn’t notice it much on SDTV (my HDTV was broken at the time) but it’s freaking horrible on HDTV. Looks even worse in motion.

Hopefully some of the engine optimisations and tweaks from Midnight Club make an appearance in the DLC, it’s quite surprising they use the same engine at times.

I think the trees look great.

”paint filler” as you call it? big deal. this game is huge.

Oh, I see what you mean. Do the PS3 and PC versions do the same thing, or is that unique to the 360 version?
Psychotext said:
PC version doesn’t have it. PS3 version does, though I’m not sure how the lower res on the PS3 version impacts that.

i actually never even noticed that ”paint effect” your talking about on my 360, maybe im just blind.
