Ubi hopes Prince of Persia “can be in the 9s”
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot revealed in an earnings call earlier today that he hope review scores for Prince of Persia “can be in the 9s.”
“Already, there’s a number of good marks,” he said. “We have 8s, some 9s and one 10.”
“But we’re still waiting for a lot of marks to come. So altogether, at the moment [scores are around] high 8s. We hope it can be in the 9s, but [we expect] it to be 8.5 and 9.2 or 3.”
Why is 9.4 always overlooked?
Game’s out next week. Thanks, Edge.

High 8s from me. Great game, lots to love, but has its flaws.
Interested to see who the 10 is from. It’s not going to be Edge or GamesTM, that’s for sure.

IGN gave it a 9.3.. =D
Indication of a good start!
I wonder what they will be doing with AC 2

I’m glad of the high scores, really.
A while back, we had angry internet men with nostalgia-blinders on whining about how it wasn’t Sands of Time just because it carried the Prince of Persia IP. That was amazingly irritating to read, considering that they were actively complaining about a company actually trying something new instead of cranking out the same old rot. On and on these mendicants went about how it’ll be a shit game, and how it looks terrible, just because it isn’t Sands of Time.
Well, these scores should shut them up. Rightly so.
And… I told them so, I knew this game would be alright. I hope they’re all embarrassed now about such public acts of spite regarding games that don’t do exactly what their sense of nostalgia demands. It’s that kind of thing that’s stifling the games industry, it’s this kind of reinvention that actually breathes some life back into it.

Since when did the publications of high scores ever make people on the internet shut up?
