Ah, a side-story. Surprised to see there’s new music and stuff in there. This is going to be a jumbo download, no doubt.

Well color me impressed. If there is more than 10 hours of gameplay and a reasonable price, I might get this, if I buy a 360 for christmas that is.

2 GB maybe?
But more important than the size will be the price for this add-on.
€/$ 29.99?
And will it be completely exclusive to the xb360 or only time-exclusive?

Microsoft paid for it, so I presume it’ll be 360 only.

Sure, but will Take-Two Interactive charge them the loss they get by not publishing it on the PS3? Or does $50 Million cover that?

I’ve no idea. $25million per episode is quite a lot of money, though.
I surmise there’s nothing to stop Sony stumping up the cash for their own DLC. Aside from typical Sony pig-headed stubbornness, that is.

If ever, I don’t think the GTA4-DLC will be different on PS3.
Microsoft does not pay T2 to create the content, they pay for exclusiveness.

I’m not sure that’s entirely true in this case.
But I hope it does come to the PS3. I have PS3-owning friends who would love to buy it.

I have both consoles (XB360 & PS3) but I purchased GTA4 for my PS3 out of nostalgia and because I generally dislike DLC. It’s a rip-off more often then not.
And now knowing that Nico Bellic is NOT the main character in this add-on, my interest has vanished completely.
In addition this whole DLC shit will only hold back GTA5!

Blech… hated the bike stuff. The 50m mentioned earlier was a loan btw, MS gets it back no matter what happens.

Errr, new vehicles sounds awesome!
But I’d prefer play Infamous in all honesty. Having said that it’s not like I have the choice, but I have NEVER bought DLC, and I don’t see myself doing it either.

I’ll see how this reviews before I decide whether to rebuy GTA IV for it, I think.

You’re missing out Pud. There’s some top notch DLC out there.

Aye, but a lot of it is ridiculously overpriced or should have been in the game from the start.

Well yeah, there’s a lot of horse armour shite out there… but that doesn’t really detract from the good stuff.

What happened to that whole blabber from that Microsoft dude about DLC being full cities and stuff?
How disappointing…

It’s not disappointing. I’ve been saying ever since this announcement that the DLC wouldn’t be a new city, back when everyone was doing their “ZOMG THE DLC IS GOING TO BE AS BIG AS SAN ANDREAS”
Where’s the common sense? If you don’t allow yourself to be sucked in by internet hype, then you won’t be disappointed.

psychotext, you know nothing about economics. MS, bought the rights to GTAIV DL content, meaning not loaning money but BUYING the rights to all of GTAIV down loadable content.
If you don’t know what that means, it means no down loadable content will arrive on the PS3, because MS paid for it. That also means MS will be putting the price on the down loadable content so don’t blame Rockstar for the price, blame the greed of Microsoft. It’s also funny people just assume there will only be new bikes because the guy is a biker. You don’t work for R* don’t run your mouth off like you know what you’re talking about till you get all the facts. New weapons, vehicles, game modes, missions, music, and character. Tell me one game that has done all that? Oh, and now people are complaining that it’s not Niko?
I thought people didn’t like this game because of Niko? ha ha people just love to bitch and complain, Worse then my girlfriend and mother combined.

Can I have a link to a story(preferably something official) that confirms that Microsoft did buy the rights on all future DLC for GTAIV?

I’m not sure all future GTA IV DLC is Microsoft’s.

“ha ha people just love to bitch and complain, Worse then my girlfriend and mother combined.”
I’m sure I’m not the only one who sees the irony sneered all over this remark.
As for this, I’m pretty sure I recall it only being a time exclusive, but don’t quote me on that. This is the closest I can find to official information at a quick glance: http://blog.wired.com/games/2007/06/take_two_gets_5.html

It’s 100% not timed. This content that is being made is for MS and no-one else. The question remains as to whether Rockstar can make something completely different for Slolny.

skyKING420: It’s a loan… not a purchase. It shows up that way in Take Two’s financials and was mentioned in their investor briefing.
What that loan “bought” Microsoft is another story entirely.

Looks good, if its nicely priced, id consider it.
All Sony needs to do now is secure GTA V: Vice City as an exclusive and all will be right in the world
