Rumour: NXE to launch at 5am EST
This X3F story claims that New Xbox Experience will launched today at 5.00am EST – that’s 10.00am GMT, or 11.00am CET if you’re on the mainland.
We’re chalking this up as rumour because we’ve asked Microsoft about this twice this week, to be told both times that the specific launch time of the UI update hasn’t been made available internally yet.
That doesn’t mean this isn’t true. In fact, it almost certainly is. We’ll try to get a confirmation of this UK time this morning.

Says on Inside Xbox (or whatever it’s called on the current dash there) that it’s launching at 10am our time.

Probably a good idea to launch it when most people are at work. Or in bed. Or both, if you’re a prostitute.

Or a professional heroin addict.
Ive got it into my head that there’s going to be a groaning generator noise and all the lights are going to flicker at 10 o’clock.

Don’t forget, the internet will die. It’s the ‘biggest event in the history of the internet’, after all. Print some porn now, while you’ve got the chance.

My 360 went RRoD two weeks ago, and is inauspiciously due back from the Big Hamburg Repair Barn today. (This one being a replacement for the disc-mangling bastard they fobbed me off with two months earlier, in a previous hilarious RRoD episode.)
I’m half-expecting it to just give up the ghost as soon as I get it, plug it in and start downloading NXE.

If that happens GordonR, be sure to raise your clenched fists to the sky and shout “DAMN YOU MICROSOFT, YOU’LL PAY FOR CROSSING ME!”
