Pacman Championship is indeed a fantastic game.

360 UI update… not so much really. Listening to the rubbish these execs (MS and Sony) spout symbolises the classic devide between sales and everyone else… everyone else just smells a load of… well you know.

Personally I think the PS3 is a far better setup for most things Media and games and the only thing that lets it down are the games that don’t run so well on it.

Still I’m looking forward to the NXE and it looks like a massive improvement over the old ‘blades’. BTW: weren’t Blades supposed to induce some kind of ‘Zen’ like euphoria… oh yea… that was some other jerk talking… isn’t he working on the Zune project now.
Ahh I’m getting old and cynical about things these days… in a few more years all will be well and I’ll just hate everything by then.

I think the key point is that these installs are optional. It would be nicer if there were a way round having to pop the disc in each time you wanted to play – but necessary I suppose.

It’s a new era of silence, this I know.

I was simply amazed that the Xbox didn’t have any form of HDD install when I first looked into it, and even the quietest XBox 360 drive makes one hell of a lot of noise. I’ve heard quieter drills.

So there’s that element that raises it above “just a dashboard update” at least.

It should have been added a lot more expediently though if you ask me. And I am given to wonder, how many XBox owners will start installing games now to avoid the drive noise? It’ll be a delicious irony considering that I’ve seen some loudly assert that they don’t need HDD installs, and the PS3 should be mocked for its long install periods.

Anyway, for me, this just bridges the gap between 360 and PS3, and makes the 360 more PS3-like. So it’s good stuff, I think.

I love my 16:10 and being able to install games, and other small but welcome improvements, but at the end of the day it’s just a dash update FFS! New era of entertainment LOL
