What a shame box the term “Xbox” (Like “PlayStation”) covers more than one console and both that term AND the article cover the 360 too.

Your points are irrelevant (note, not relevant… not invalid, which was the word you chose) because they are not relevant to the article. The article which isn’t talking about the same console you are.

It wouldn’t really be so bad but you even agree with the “the reasons cited above” (you love those quote marks?) which specifically mention “unveiling the console at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January 2001″, and a “battle for video-game dominance between the Xbox, Sony’s PlayStation 2 and the Nintendo GameCube”.

So you basically had your response ready in your head without actually reading what was written here. That aside… Woohoo! I scored a point on the internet!

You know how important header images are. And how misleading the games media can be.

I’d say it’s top and bottom. Top for the reasons cited above (loving those quote marks!) but the reliability issue and their initial attitude towards it will be hard to ignore – objectively speaking.

Up until that, I was all for the 360 this generation, but the stuff I’ve learned about the issue is truly shocking.

But, yeah, American publication talking about American product being popular with Americans. Make of it what you will.

Especially when 360-friendly communities love to point the finger at Japan and say how xenophobic that culture has been in it’s reception of the 360. What a shame American’s generally don’t get irony!
