Stardock's Brian Clair, speaking on the company's forum, has confirmed that the upcoming Sins of the Solar Empire expansion, titled Entrenchment, has been delayed until next year.

The add-on to the popular space-based RTS was originally planned to release this week.

Entrenchment "will first be put through a public beta test for pre-order customers" in order to "finely hone" the product before release, said the exec.

He also notes that a final release date has not been set, and that it will "largely depend on beta feedback."
