Golden lancer code not working in Gears 2?
According to this thread in the Epic forums the pre-order code to unlock the golden lancer in Gears of War 2 may not be working for some.
Not got verification on this at the moment, but apparently this isn’t an isolated incident.

A friend of mine also has a code that doesn’t work. I LOL’ed. I got the normal edition myself, those golden lancers look really ugly and silly in-game.

The same problem happened with the LittleBigPlanet codes from GameStop. They didn’t work until the launch date hit. Those weren’t packaged with the game though…
Pretty shitty if you ask me.

I agree with Smartypants, they look terrible, more yellow than gold, and they also look really plasticy.

On my card the lancer code was under the 48 hour trial header and vice versa.

Just tried the Lancer code again, and hey-ho, it works! I wonder if you have to actually play the game before you try and unlock it. Weird.

nope, i poped in the code for the gun and the maps before actually playing the game and it worked

I got my GOW2LE an tried to use the code but it redeemed but then it went to 1% and said “this item cannot be downloaded .. i wish i had a new code

That “fix” posted yesterday doesn’t work. Or it didn’t yesterday anyway. Just said “Can’t download”.
