Ghostbusters officially goes to Atari
Ghostbusters has officially been picked up by Atari, IGN reports.
“Ghostbusters: The Video Game is a fantastic addition to Atari’s global line-up in 2009,” said company boss Phil Harrison.
“The title has built considerable anticipation and excitement among game fans for its high quality action and all-out mayhem. There’s no more thrilling Ghostbusting experience to be had, short of building your own proton pack.”
Nice one, Terminal Reality. More through the link.

Last time Phil said something was ‘fantastic’ it turned out to be Alone in the Dark.

Sony owns this IP. Why on earth didn’t they hand it to one of their studios? They could then guarentee it isn’t gimped by lazy developers.

The game’s already just about done. It’s a bit late in the day to switch it to another developer. Atari are only publishing it, they’re not actually creating it.
As to why Sony Pictures don’t keep all their best licenses to themselves, you’d have to ask Sony Pictures. Bond could well be a Sony-exclusive too, remember. I guess they just like maximum money.

PS3 is the lead dev platform if that sort of thing warms your cockles.
