SCEE shows 160Gb PSN PS3 bundle (update)
Update: This is already out, apparently. Thanks, Bringit.
Update 2: Gameplay.co.uk‘s got list listed for £339.99, although it’s out of stock. Worth noting that this pack’s got the 160Gb hard drive in it. Thanks, Shatner.
Norwegian retailer Komplett has made first mention of a PSN PS3 bundle, to include GT5: Prologue, Quest for Booty, Last Guy & Super Stardust HD.
The pack is undated and will cost 4,500 kroner, or a staggering £417.
Thanks, Kotaku.

That can’t seriously be the final artwork can it? Sony needs a packaging designer, stat! Maybe I could do a bit of moonlighting.

I thought the UK price for that thing was £339? Even so, it’s still a better deal to go for the 80gb, get the free full retail game and upgrade your HDD yourself.

Advertised at Gameplay.co.uk for £339.99 which is a significant step down from the “staggering £417″ mentioned in the article.
Worth noting the hard disk in these bundles is 160gb too.
Also worth noting that it’s not in stock
Prices in northern european retailers are usually quite shocking compared to other parts of europe and the US in particular.

We are having these bundle packs for some time now in the store where I work. It’s the 160GB PSN pack which costs 449,99 euro’s. A Motorstorm Pacific Rift pack which costs 399,99 and this comes with 80GB and a Dual Shock 3 controller plus we sell the ‘normal’ PS3 Bundle which is a 80GB version with a Dual Shock 3 controller which has seen a price drop from 399,99 to 379,99 euro’s.
BTW I work at Ben van Dijk Electronics Uden in the Netherlands

Spoke to some photographer the other day who said he got one over the weekend.
Says he didn’t want a Wii despite what his wife said/threatened. xD
Sexism gone mad is why the Wii is selling. Back in the days of PS2, when a wife suggested something stupid she’d be told to go back to the kitchen.

Putting the price up is very sound business when you’re already far more expensive than your competition.

@Whizzo: It’s actually the cheapest version in Germany unless you find the 80GB version bundled with 2 games.
Edit: cheapest = best price-value ratio

Pat, I am trying to find a stable source so you can post a PS3 redemption in Japan story (
), but the blog i get it from is unstable enough already, so I won’t post that all over the internet.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say redemption Pud… the last major bump they had put them over 75k units sold in a week. We shall see what it stabilises at after this.

Sensitive isn’t the word you’re looking for. I’m advising you not to get ahead of yourself and be disappointed (I know how every Wii victory cuts you like a knife).
Those numbers are kosher. We get them every week at this time. We’ll get Media Create numbers tomorrow.

It’s true… The Wii thing….
And I am sure also that the Wii will ahve had stock problems or soemthign becuase it’s really low, so don’t worry, my head isn’t in the clouds.
It’s actually lying on the floor, beheaded several times by the Wii.

No, the Wii has been trending downwards for quite a while in Japan. Same happened last year at this time of year so I’m not reading too much into it.
