BioShock PS3 DLC gets trailered

2K’s put out a video of the exclusive DLC PlayStation 3-owning BioShock players can expect to get later this month, and very nice it looks too.

If you recall, the content consists of three challenge rooms. And not a lot else. It’s only $10, though, so that’s fine.

After the break.

Wasn’t this originally planned to be on the disc from the start (on the PS3)?

    Originally? Yep.

They decided that it was salable though, so the PS3 BioShock went from has extra content to has secret and rather shitty trailer, and can run extra content which must be paid for.

This is becoming a commonality with current generation games, and it’s only empowering my frothing (and possibly rabid) hatred of the DLC mechanic. It should have been on the disc, but it was removed from the disc because it could be sold separately.

It makes good business sense, but it also alienates someone with an ounce of sense. Of course, it needn’t be said that as far as DLC fans are concerned, I have a bridge I’d like to sell them, but they’ve probably already paid through the nose to download the schematics for that bridge already. :p

Well, more power to the fiscally foolhardy, I s’pose. I’m not touching the PS3 version of BioShock personally, if they hadn’t backed out on their original ideas for the PS3 version then it’d be sitting in my collection right now.

But as I said: Stupid people have money, will buy.

Edit: It was nice to read today aswell that I’m not the only person who sees this kind of nonsense (people wasting money on the gaming equivalent of offal when they could be spending it on prime steak) going on. It was a breath of fresh air, to say the least.

If they offend you, don’t read them.

On a ratio of worth-per-word, Esha’s post blitzes your effort No_PUDding.

In fact, Esha’s the best commenter I’ve ever seen on this site. Always constructive and informed. Far better than someone who has nothing to contribute other than disdain for something they don’t even have to read.

Although, if Esha hates Space Giraffe I may have to conduct a re-appraisal.
