Red Alert 3 PS3 before Christmas, to support 1080p

Tuesday, 4th November 2008 17:17 GMT By Patrick Garratt

Speaking to Videogamer, producer and C&C TV presenter David Silverman has seemingly confirmed that the PS3 version of Red Alert 3 will ship before Christmas and will pack console-specific features such as 1080p resolution and “the high-defness of Blu-Ray”.

“If you’re a PS3 owner and you don’t own a PC and you don’t have an Xbox 360 you don’t have to write on your Christmas or Hanukkah list that you want to have an Xbox,” he said.

“You can play Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, bide your time and you’ll be very pleased.

“We’re looking at doing some really cool things with the PS3 version. Since it is shipping later we’re putting in a lot of cool content and really taking advantage of both the 1080p nature and the high-defness of Blu-Ray and also the fact that it can hold just so much more space.”

The PS3 version was put on hold in June.

    Maguire was HALF right.

Bu I hasten to add, he was right, ONLY about Red Alert, with timed exclusivity… Ahh Ray… You really are a trooper.

    1080p though, that is cool.

Don’t question it till you see it.

(mainly becuase I doubt with a lot of doubtness that it will actually happen)

    I’ve got a lot of doubtness that high-defness is actually a word(ness?).

Space Giraffeness is a word. In fact, it’s two. It scores 78 points on a triple word score.

I thought this had been canned, so I’m well pleased with the news. 1080p support should be a big help with any RTS game… now all I need is a 1080p TV :D

BTW, not to put a potential downer on this but… are we sure they aren’t talking about using that 1080p high-defness for the video cutscenes that C&C is so famous for?

Lol but that IS a potential downer on this.

It’s okay, as you saw in my post above, it’s exactly what I thought.
