I’m sure it only got a 9 because Cliffy threatened to kick EG in the balls if it got anything less.

It is better than the first one from what I saw of it.

Although I’m not sure Marcus’s facial hair will ever be forgiveable.

I agree with what Newbie said. A good review shouldn’t need a score at the end, it should be visible in the text what the author thought about the game.

no there is no demo for Gears of War 2, there was also never a demo for the 1st game hehe. You do have to try this though! i really enjoyed the story and the gameplay, its definately worth trying out if you’ve never played!

I must be one of the very very few people that can actually recall what Gertsman used to write like when he was at gamespot. No I don’t trust him, no I don’t like style and yes giantbomb is a terrible site.

Really though go read some of his older reviews, even with the entire KaneandLynch-gate drama read that actual review, he rips the game to shreds, yet still marked it 6/10 with some plus points that were never actually mentioned in the review itself.

i dunno, i for one like gertsman, pre-Gertsmangate and after. you can’t shoot down the giantbomb site just because of him man. there is some pretty cool stuff on that site, there’s also a pretty huge games database which is pretty neat.

every reviewer is pretty much entitled to their ideas. Yes, pretty much all reviewers are biased one way or another on certain types of games, certain companies, and certain consoles, and everyone actually despises certain reviewers… but gamers just have to go out there and actually rent the damn games for themselves! It is just after that that you will make your own review of the game and decide for yourself if you like it or not.

Hmm. No Gamespot review…

You never know with Gamespot, some times they’re reviews come out weeks after the actual game, i think there was even a case where it was a good month after. Ofcourse GeOW2 is one of those ultimate hype games, so i doubt they’ll take that long, probaly up by tonight.

Nah, I don’t much care for it either. I find it intriguing rather than interesting. There’s a subtle difference.

This is what’s wrong with the games press.

You’ve got games like Halo 3 that get 10′s across the board, even though they’re only above average at best.

Even to this very day I still haven’t completed the Halo 3 campaign, because it’s just NOT THAT GOOD!

But when a better game comes out, and make no mistake; this is a better game if it’s better than the first Gears, which puts Halo 3 to shame anyway, it gets realistic scores which clearly can’t compare with Halo 3′s ridiculous ‘hype scores’.

There are far to many bribe taking, coke snorting, butt kissing losers in the games press, and it’s days like this that you can see clearly just what a mockery that they make of it.
