US PS movie store update is completely ridiculous

deliverance.jpg

Good grief. SCEA’s announced this week’s Movie Store update early – it’s normally a Saturday morning thing – and the film section is just out of control.

Seriously, take a look. It’s got Deliverance in it. If there isn’t something for you there you’re either dead or blind. If Europe gets anything like this sort of service next year we’re in for a treat.

Can’t belive the amount of content added, shed loads of movies, is that just in one week?

If I use a US account can I DL them?

I’ve I’m not mistaken it blocks anyone with an IP address outside the US. So, you have to wait for it to arrive hear and then pay twice as much for a choice of 5 boring movies a week. If you are lucky. :)

Alternatively, you can allegedly also download all those movies whenever you want for free with this nifty new invention called ‘torrents’. Must look into that sometime.

They have The Italian Job on there now?

Gods damn it, Sony. I know there are licensing concerns that’re stopping you from easily bringing this content to the UK but figure it out. You have the bloody money, and it would bring you console sales in the UK.

@Smartypants

Torrents don’t allow us to actually support the people who make these movies though, do they? I admit, not a lot of movies are likely worth that support, but some are.

I can’t see there ever being a time where i’ll pay to download a film over either the 360 or PS3, but it’s still a pretty admirable list of movies!

Yeah, but you can just rent them. Or use other means of getting them for cheap. :)
