Motorstorm 2 DLC promised weekly, “a lot of it is free”
Posting on the US PS Blog, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift director Nigel Kershaw has said the team at Evolution is to try to provide weekly DLC for the game – which launches in the US tomorrow – and that larger chunks of extra content are on the way next year.
“Once were all rested its back to the development bunker to finish off the DLC we have lined up for you guys in the coming months,” he said.
“We’ve got a pile of stuff waiting in the wings, and, you’ll be glad to know, a lot of it is free. We’re going to try and give you something new to play with every week, and we’ve also got some major packs in development that should be on the store after Christmas.”
We assume that means you’ll be paying for the bigger lumps.
More through there.

I’d rather see them doing a new WRC than a load of DLC. :/

This is great news. It is good to see a developer continuing to support and expand a game after release, especially when that includes free content.
Such an approach was one of the reasons the original Motorstorm has been so successful. How can new tracks and cars be a bad thing?

The thing is, that all the things they released as DLC for MS should have been in there from the start and not after a few month for another 20€.

WRC isn’t a Sony IP, so thats just out of the question.

I know, but Evolution made them before, so there might be chance they can do a decent rally game again. There hasn’t been one in years. (No, Dirt does not count)

I always liked Motorstorm, and this one is looking good also. It’s dirt mayhem, good arcade fun. DLC is okay by me, as long as the core game as you buy it is complete enough. I don’t like being forced into downloading for the full experience. But free/cheap extra paintjobs, models and tracks are always nice.

Syrok, they will be things developed after it went gold. They have to draw a line somewhere! Or would you prefer a longer wait for the disk to include these things, much of which will be free anyway?

In the case of the first MS, yes. If a game offers enough from the start I don’t mind DLC.
