Some shops didn't send their shipment back and just decided to sell it anyway - some even went ahead with the planned midnight launches and stuff. So now they've got a bunch of shops selling as if it's out, complete with the old discs, the servers not switched on for the people who have bought it, the 'proper' launch in a few weeks will be less successful because a big bunch of people have already bought it, punters unsure whether it's actually out or not... it's a complete disaster.
