LittleBigPlanet already hitting US retail

littlebigplanet53.jpg

LittleBigPlanet copies are already in the hands of some American punters, as you can see on these PS3F and US PS Blog posts.

The game’s servers aren’t online yet, however, as SCEA points out, so if you were lucky enough to get an early copy – GameStop appears to be the retailer at the core of this – then you’re going to be disc-bound until later this week.

You’re abit late, people have been taking pictures of their early recived copies from about 3 weeks now.

But those were all uncensored versions, no?

More or less, the games already been patched in the US so theres no difference.

They’ve completely ballsed this up. You either recall it, or you don’t. Doing “a bit of both” will potentially shaft the game in the charts.

Is this the original version? With the lyrics still on the disc? It’s all getting a bit confusing now.

Yes, it’s the original one. Some shops didn’t send their shipment back and just decided to sell it anyway – some even went ahead with the planned midnight launches and stuff. So now they’ve got a bunch of shops selling as if it’s out, complete with the old discs, the servers not switched on for the people who have bought it, the ‘proper’ launch in a few weeks will be less successful because a big bunch of people have already bought it, punters unsure whether it’s actually out or not… it’s a complete disaster.

Oh dear. That really is a bit of a shame.
