Sony: 2009 “year of the PSP”

In an interview with Herenb, Matt Levitan, marketing and public relations manager for Playstation Canada, said that he believes that 2009 will be “the year of the PSP.”

When asked what could be expected from Sony in 09, Levitan replied:

“MAG (Massive Action Game), which is going to have 256 players online. Infamous is another game. Everyone has their likes and dislikes about sandbox games but this one has a new take on it.

“I also think 2009 is going to be the year of the PSP, he said. “We have Resistance: Retribution coming in February but I’ve seen a lot of the stuff in development and it is not a mistake by any means to a buy a PSP now.”

I might just wait and see those games first if you don’t mind, Mark.

I wonder if 2009 will be the year of the PSP in the same way 2008 was the year of the PS3.

I’m waiting for the PSP-4000. When that’s released, I’ll be waiting for the PSP-5000. You get the point.

Wasn’t this year supposed to be the year of the PS3? And look how that turned out.

And anyone who expresses confidence in a console’s line-up and mentions just one game is clearly struggling for something positive to say.
