New White Knight Chronicles info reveals flying character, magic, attacks

whitenightchronicles1.jpg

According to Famistsu, the black knight in Level-5s RPG, White Knight Chronicles can transform into this rather impressive flying character (pictured above).

Also, players have one-handed swords, which will be ideal for short, close fighting. There are also large, two-handed swords that cause massive damage to enemies with a single blow, but mostly likely due to the weight, you can’t strike your opponents in rapid succession.

For magic, there are two types: Holy Magic and Spirit Magic. The use of magic will drain some of your health. There are four types attributes for Spirit Magic: Fire, Water, Wind and Earth.

Thanks, Kotaku.

I’m not surprised, angels and the fallen are fairly iconic in Japanese culture, and I’ve seen them in more Japanese cartoons and games than I could care to remember. The presence of winged blokes (or a winged bloke) in this game doesn’t surprise me all that much.

Wings are the Japanese equivalent to the Western habit of giving characters over-sized weapons. Though I tolerate the wings more than said overcompensation.
