Eurogamer gives Motorstorm: Pacific Rift 7/10
Head over to Eurogamer to find out why. If you can’t handle all those words though, he’s an apt summation:
…too much of your time is spent grinding second-choice metal in search of elusive pace, or cursing imperious AI and unpredictable catastrophe, and in the battle between the game’s infrequent but electrifying highs and its frustrating lows, the result is too close to stalemate to match the first game’s understated achievement.
So there you go. Game’s out in Europe on November 7.

The recent Euro demo was pretty “meh”. Surprised it got a 7 though, I was expecting a bit of a panning. Looks like Pure’s the new off road daddeh then…

7 sounds about right. The demo was really just Motorstorm with a paint job. To be fair, I’m sure that if you spend some real time with it, you’d appreciate that a lot more is going on, but I didn’t find the first game to be my cup of tea, and I don’t think the sequel will do anything to change that.

I think the demo’s a little bit of an unfair basis to judge the quality of this on. Wasn’t it a really old build?

In which case, why did they release it?

If the full version got a 7, then the demo was pretty good indication of the quality of the game. And why the hell would it be unfair to judge a demo? What do you think a demo is for? I always assumed it was to convince consumers to buy the game….
