More WWII Call of Duty may be on the way
Treyarch’s refused to rule out WWII as a setting for future Call of Duty games, but has admitted it was glad to “end the war” with the upcoming Call of Duty: World at War.
“I can’t say that there won’t ever be a WWII Call of Duty game again, but we’re glad we were able to end the war and we’re glad we’re going to support the title with lots of downloadable content,” senior producer Noah Heller told CVG.
“It’s gratifying that we’re able to show the close for once, rather than the opening,” he added. “The war is over and both campaigns have a very clear ending.”
The conclusion seems to suggest and end to Call of Duty’s WWII chapter then, but Heller says there’s still plenty of battlefronts it could cover.
“If we had time we might have shown the end of the war from many different country’s perspectives, and maybe that’s a story still untold,” he said.
“But in the meantime people definitely haven’t seen the final charge of the Red Army, people haven’t seen what the fighting was like in Okinawa and I think it’s definitely important to show those stories from a polished perspective rather than show some of the mopping up elsewhere in the world.”

Don’t mind at all, as long as Treyarch doesn’t do it.

they will always come back to WWII, they will find as many conflicts/wars as possible, and keep milking us for our money, as it is by the activision way of life(im really starting to hate activision)…

Bah, shame. I’d like more modern theatre.
And as NP said, I really don’t wanna see Treyarch doing any more COD games. They should stick to Spidey.

Hey Activision. People liked the current day setting of CoD4, maybe that’s the way to go.

Any COD game from now on without a silenced P90 or equivalent weapon sucks!
