System requirements announced for Fallout 3 PC

Bethesda’s put out system requirements for the PC version of Fallout 3, and it’s all looking dandy for the technically challenged.

After the break. Game’s out on October 31.

Minimum System Requirements:

* Windows XP/Vista
* 1GB System RAM (XP)/ 2GB System RAM (Vista)
* 2.4 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor
* Direct X 9.0c compliant video card with 256MB RAM (NVIDIA 6800 or better/ATI X850 or better)

Recommended System Requirements:

* Intel Core 2 Duo processor
* 2 GB System RAM
* Direct X 9.0c compliant video card with 512MB RAM (NVIDIA 8800 series, ATI 3800 series)

    Seems quite reasonable. The “recommended” specs seem to be par for the course for most new PC games these days. Frankly, a good old 8800GT is so cheap these days that it shouldn’t be too hard for anyone with a moderately recent PC to play this sort of game.
