InFamous gets updated impressions and screens
Another playtest from Tokyo, this time in the form of Sucker Punch’s InFamous, as seen by IGN. From the piece:
The representative playing the game also fought against several suicide Reapers, which would attempt to detonate themselves near Cole in a flurry of fire and smoke. The explosions were quite spectacular, even with the game running in such an early state. The ending battle took place inside a giant transformer area, where Cole coated the entire structure in electricity and completely decimated his surroundings — Reapers included.
Although I’ve never been terribly excited about Infamous, seeing the game in person definitely has me excited now. I’m curious as to how the title will look once Sucker Punch begins polishing the overall experience.
We reckon this one’s got legs. New screens and art here. Out for PS3 next year.

I’ve updated my own impressions too. Now, it only slightly looks like Crackdown!

Sucker Punch are good guys. I’m sure this’ll be great.

I’ve got mixed feelings about this.
On the one hand, it’s a story about how a random bicycle-bound delivery boy and only a bunch of gang leaders survive out of an event that killed… many (not sure how many it was, exactly). And they all got super-powers. That alone set off alarm bells.
But the game looks magnificent, and Sucker Punch are indeed good people, I trust them. They made Sly Raccoon, and that game left me with a good deal of fond memories.
I’m just waiting for the big unveil where it’s explained why the whole thing happened that way, and I know they’re going to have an excellent plot-based explanation for it.
They are.
I’m trying to convince myself of that, yes.

Who cares about the story? As long as the game is fun to play!

The thing is that this game looks rather uninteresting. i pretty much agree with Esha. this game looks kinda bland. with the lighting and stuff makes it feel like force unleased, just without the SW license hehe. i doubt ill play this.

Really looking forward to this, the premise is sound and I think we’re just waiting for Sucker Punch to pull back the curtain, as it were, and reveal what’s going to push it all along.

Not feeling this… but I didn’t like Crackdown or Saints Row so I get the feeling that these open world sandbox style games really aren’t for me.
