Rumour: Nintendo to show “old franchise” revival this week
This Gamekyo story claims that Nintendo’s going to show an old franchise update at its press conference this week. Like, dur. From the piece:
Nintendo seems to be hiding some more surprises for its upcoming Japanese press conference next Thursday. Everyone is talking about a new model of the Nintendo DS that includes a camera, but what you don’t know is that Nintendo has a new game to show. We can announce today that Nintendo will reveal a new game for the Wii during this event which is actually an old franchise that everyone is waiting for. Nintendo press conference will be held in Japan on October 2nd.
What could it be?

Revival implies it’s old and forgotten and possibled denied a sequel.
Doesn’t sound like Zelda considering the awesome Phantom Hourglass.

A game everyone is waiting for?
Wave Race
Extreme-G
F-Zero
Pilotwings
Mischief Makers
Yoshi’s Story
Blast Corps
Glover
Banjo-Kazooie (The real one not that 360 … thing)
Could be any of those in my opinion.

Is this just the same Kid Icarus rumour that’s been going around for ages?
Pilotwings would be my choice.

“Awesome” and “Phantom Hourglass” do not belong in the same sentence. Ever. Unless that sentence is “Phantom Hourglass is awesomely horrible and possibly the worst Zelda game ever created”.
Bound to be Pikmin, anyway. Mainly because we already know about it and every time somebody whips the Nintendites up like this it’s ultimately a disappointment. Poor loves.

I’m Starting to see a pattern here…. hmmm… wait!
Isn’t this what they do every generation? “Revive the Classics”, Seriously. I’m expecting a Mario GTA cross-over next, “it’s a me Mariooo die muterfockas,BAM, BAM, BAM… mama mia that’s a mighty goda meata ball!”.

Never going to happen Rare are Microsoft bitches now. But just to point out the one that is coming to 360 is the real one.

I know, but it doesn’t have the same feel to it. (Judging by the videos)

Kirby would be a wonderful choice for the Wii, considering.
And damn, someone beat me to Kid Icarus.
I am, however, utterly amazed that Metroid wasn’t mentioned. That’d be interesting, especially if it were back in the hands of Japanese development.

Metroid has a Wii game, it’s not an ‘old franchise’.
I’m going to play it safe and say there’s a 90% chance it’s something cartoony.
