Hydrophobia sequel set in “drowned Boston”

Speaking to PS3 Attitude, Hydrophobia developer Pete Jones has confirmed that the game will have a sequel set in the east US – before a date for the original game has even been announced.

“Actually the sequel to the game is set in a drowned Boston – that’s an exclusive by the way – (New York has had more of its fair share of fictional and real disasters over time) so we do have plans for an expansion of the Hydrophobia world,” Jones told the site.

The first game – a PS3 action title set in a watery future – is in development at Blade Interactive.

That’s an in-joke, right? Hydrophobia gets compared to BioShock (both big watery worlds). This annoys Blade. BioShock was made by 2K Boston. He’s having a dig.

So, it’s out sometime next year, then? I’m really liking the world and situation that they’ve created for this. Hopefully, more definite details, and previews will be around sooner, than later. Of course, I’ll be back, later, for part 2. :)
