I’ve just been sent through an unofficial guide to getting into the game by a UK PR rep, but he’s checking now to see if we can post it. They seemed to be unaware of the “missing button” issue, and that’s being checked now.

That login box is just for the website not the game or registration, it’s pretty hopeless on GOA’s part that it’s sometimes usable and sometimes isn’t.

Just had another go with the code page (in IE): the button only appears when you have filled all the code fields (i just filled them all up with zeroes and it still worked). The button will appear even if you don’t type in any login info.

Yeah, don’t know what’s going on with that: there was a button there yesterday! I had to use IE to get the registration buttons to show (usually use Chrome) but that appears to work now.

Is there anything “online” that works from day one? You’d think the industrie would learn a thing from all these launch issues and perhaps do it right “the next time”.

I’ve just spoken to UK PR. They’re sending over a 10-point plan about how to access the game without actually logging in.

I found it very awkward to set it up yesterday but if you click on the ‘register’ button below the disabled login that sets you up an account. Now, you can’t do anything with this account yet except click on the ‘code’ button which lets you link the account with a code on the back of the manual. After a several minutes (took about ten for me) you either get an email saying why the link didn’t work (incorrect password for me) or that it was successful. After you have done this it should let you log in to the game (which immediately downloads 822MB of patches over about 4 hours).

Apologies if you’ve done this but I did manage it yesterday after buying the retail copy and played for about 4 hours last night. I joined a low pop server and it worked pretty well aside from a few instances of lag.
