White Knight Story out on Christmas Day in Japan?

whiteknightstory2.jpg

This Famitsu scan has apparently confirmed that Level-5 RPG White Knight Story will release for PS3 on December 25 in Japan.

We’re putting a question mark after this considering what happened last time the game was supposedly dated by Famitsu. Once bitten, etc.

See for yourself.

Sooner than I expected it, if true. Still looking pretty cool – sort of like a cross between Final Fantasy XII and Dragon Quest VIII, stylistically.

Kotaku’s run it now. Looks true.

Charcter customisation is cool, but no graphical improvement, we’ll ahve to see at TGS.

It’s hardly a ‘bad looking’ game.

I’m a big concerned that they’re forcing this out the door to stop the Japanese rot. Last I heard they weren’t even sure they’d be able to get it playable for TGS.

Level 5 do have a bit of a history of releasing stuff in a ‘less the optimal’ state for the Japanese market and then spending months tarting it up (i.e. actually finishing it) for the Western release. And then re-releasing that version in Japan.
