PC Games rallies German gamers against Christian Social Union
The German PC Games magazine has called on gamers to mass-mail leading political figures in the ever-present “killer games” debate in the country in the wake of Zeit Online interviewing Bavarian interior minister Joachim Herrmann (translated here by GamesPolitics).
In the chat, Herrmann, a Christian Social Union politician, says that any game involving “brutal violence” should be outright banned in Germany by law.
Obviously, those who aren’t extremely conservative, middle-aged and a little bonkers, may find his views rather “disturbing.”
Mail the German politicians and tell them so. It’s doubtful a legal ban would ever pass through parliament in German, but that doesn’t mean you have to sit by and wait for it to happen, does it?

There’s too much violence in our society. We can
1) Stop war
2) Ban games
Clearly, option 1 is for the greater good (economy!), so let’s do 2.
Besides, he’s talking about a whole generation of children who will be eternally spoilt by the violence shown in videogames. This will clearly be the demise of man.
I wonder if he can find out what children had to endure 65 years ago.

hmmm….
Christian Social Union in Germany wants to ban video games, eh?
The National Socialist Party in Germany burned books.
Makes you wonder what their agenda is…

Reminds me of Heine: “Where they burn books, at the end they also burn people.”
Just so.
