Apple’s just finished unveliing a bunch of new products, not least of which was an updated iPod Touch which Steve Jobs proclaimed as the “best portable device for gaming.”

Need for Speed Undercover was confirmed for the handheld at the San Francisco press conference, as was a new football game, Real Soccer 2009.

Thanks, Joystiq.

I bet Sony and Nintendo believe differently, Steve…

It’s a nice unit though. I’ve been playing a great little western game on it recently, lots of different game modes, some creative uses of the controls and all for 3.49. The potential is certainly there anyway, and those NFS graphics look rather excellent.

I told ya, once steve-o saw those game sales there was no way he was going to shun games on the platform. The iPhone/ipod Touch combo may just be the darkhorse of gaming. It’s a very powerful piece of hardware indeed! NFS looked awesome!

and dont forget ID keeps promising Dreamcast quality on the platform so I cant wait to see waht John has come up with “Touch” of Doom?
