I don't get it. No really. If it works the same way as Bioshock then you get three concurrent installs. If you uninstall it you get one back, if your computer dies, you e-mail them and they give you another install token.

PC gaming does have a massive problem with piracy, and when a company actually protects its own property everyone goes nuts. Mass Effects proposed idea of every so many days was over the top and it was then removed, aside from that idea that never was I have no problem at all.

Pointing out Oblivion isn't really a great argument, they sold loads as its was just one of those hit games. DMC4, Bloodlines and many other games that did not have copy protection have suffered massively, it killed Bloodlines devs.

I agree on the principle that DRM doesn't really help that much but something smells fishy and it sounds like an orchestrated stunt to me by anti-DRM folks rather then genuine customers up in arms.

"But, but, we HAVE to take unhumanly measures, or piracy will flourish!"

Cause and effect, the old mystery.

Look at Oblivion, it had no copy protection at all!

SH - Yep, it's stupid, no question. The isn't the first game to fall foul of it, frankly.

Three times. Ever?!? There's no mistake? What a load of rubbish. There goes the faintest possibility I was going to get that on PC.

"Maybe someone should get the message? You can torrent Spore for free, for God’s sake. These people are trying to buy it."

THIS
(If you buy a game, you should bloody well be able to install it as often as you like - or just find a DRM-free solution - oh no, that's what they're encouraging people to do, anyway...amazing OWN GOAL there, by the Software Justice League. /o\)

I cannot fathom why publishers go out of their way to get people offside (no pun intended) who are, actually, part of their defence against the pirates. Mystifying.

Is that three times ever or three times over a certain period?

Will Amazon really be as helpful as an online petition? Stay tuned!
