Yeah, I read it all. I think the main difference between you and I is that I'm picking up a PS3 for the games that interest me (plus I play one regularly anyway)... I can't see you doing the same with the 360. Or maybe I'm wrong.

Plus of course, it's rare I bother talking about games I don't rate. :)

I suppose you can't risk being facetious around here.

Sure I don't hold Microsoft in high regard, but that doesn't stop me being envious of not having Fable 2 instead of brown dull Resistance 2 this fall.

In that way I can be objective about games, I have been positive about every 360 game outside of Gears 2 or kept my mouth shut. It's a cliche but games come first. And that is part of being perceived as objective. Important for being taken seriously on the internets if you ask me.

I don't wholly trust your impartiality either. But I am objective when you're down on a PS3 game (if I don't agree with you).

EDIT: If you read all that, then fuck whatever else, I think you deserve a medal of objectivity.

Because you're a self certified fanboy No_PUD... which is also why I have such trouble treating your opinion on this with any real respect.

You know very well why I comment on this with such disdain.

Becuase I have a bone and I am a dog.

And you whining without any objectivity about my posts is why I am persistant.

You're right No_PUD, but that's mostly because you've been going after this "point" like a dog with a bone. At the end of the day I probably just find it hard to see why you spend so much time commenting on a game that you have no interest in, and never will.

I'll continue looking forward to the game, and paying attention to those who have had a chance to play it when they say that they were concerned about the vehicles at first, but that they're sold on the idea now.

It just seems you can't accept that I have a pretty clear point that's more than my prerogative.

I have watched basically every video of it, so don't claim it's a case of ignorance. I say that it's 'tacked-on' primarily becuase of the videos. Interviews and such come secondarily to that and only support the idea the development process was rather uninspired.

Ok No_PUD... you've disliked this game from day one so I see no point discussing it with you further.

I've watched pretty much every interview these guys have done and there's no way this was changed much past the initial development stages. If you think that's "tacked on" at the last minute then that's your perogative.

If you'd watched more of the vids of the game maybe you could see that the vehicles are pretty integral.

"We did that for a bit and as gamers and as developers, it just felt a little bit stale. It felt like it didn’t fit in today’s market."

They were playing it, and tacked on the bit that attempts to make the game different.

And I am sorry but the X06 'blueprint' trailer is hardly anything to go by, I saw NO vehicles, not even a hint at them. The blueprint coudl be more of a reference to how it's in conceptual stages.

It's "clear" they had a build running No_PUD? Sounds like it was altered at a design stage to me. Unless you really think they got near to completing the game and then threw it in (baring in mind that the blueprint theme was present back in the 2006 teaser trailer).

You are comparing this to what?

Anyway, such an insignificant tack-on won't save a stale platformer, that's the truth of it. For me anyway.

Surely it depends on how long they spend integrating it? Just because it's added later on it doesn't mean it was tacked on. For example Wolfenstein 3D must have started as a maze game, then some bright spark "tacked on" guns.

That's almost arguing semantics.

It was clear they had a build running and thought, this is underwhelming, let's add stuff.

I think I am fair in saying that's tacked on.

At which point during the development does adding something become tacking it on though? It looks like it's been there long enough for it to be completely integral as the rest of the game has been built around it.

I think you'll find that as far as the single player game is concerned vehicles will probably feel a little tacked on. I.e. just a way to get from A to B in a slightly different way to other people. However where the vehicle stuff could really shine is in the single player challenges and multiplayer. See Eurogamer.tv for vids.

Can I just reaffirm what I said before now without my head being bitten off this time. Vehicle customisation was tacked on.

That's why I don't dig this that much.
