Samsung: "Blu-ray has 5 years left"

Speaking in this interview with Pocket-Lint, a Samsung UK exec has called time on Blu-ray, and it sounds as though it's not going to make it through PS3's lifecycle.

"I think [Blu-ray] has 5 years left, I certainly wouldn't give it 10," said Andy Griffiths, director of consumer electronics at the firm.

Oh dear. That said, Griffiths still believes the format's going to do the business while it's around.

"It's going to be huge", he said. "We are heavily back-ordered at the moment."
