Harmonix boos band exclusivity in music games

With the release of Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, Activision’s little back-and-forth with Harmonix officially blossomed into a full-on exclusivity war – or so everyone thought. But in an interview with IGN, Harmonix audio director Eric Brosious didn’t seem too eager to start roping off his favorite artists.

“We prefer not to sign exclusive deals with artists because while it seems like the competitive ‘business’ thing to do, in the long run it’s really not good for anyone. We think we should be working to get more music out to more people,” he stated plainly.

Plop yourself down in a comfy chair and read the full (four page!) interview for Brosious’ thoughts on censorship and difficulty, along with every band IGN could think of. Definitely worth a read.
