Interesting to see that PS3 software sales are slowly catching up with the 360 figures.

Seems fairly obvious to me what sort of “trend” is emerging. I feel they’re just holding each other’s balls and sweating over who’s going to drop the price first. My money’s on a $50 360 cut in September, and I reckon we’ll see the same in Europe. I still think Sony will drop PS3′s price, but later. October, I reckon.

$50 cuts for both platforms would seem a sensible move in the run up to Christmas, and I think you’re right – Sony will hold out longer. Another £20 off the 360 in Europe so that the 60gb machine officially matches the Wii price would probably earn them some good press, too.
It’ll be interesting to see if they also start bundling some games in. They usually do at this time of year.
