“Daily Mail hate is an honour,” says Rockstar boss

Sam Houser loves to be hated. He even thinks it’s an honour. He told Develop so.

“Most of the people who hate us are people it is truly an honour to be hated by – reactionary creeps with strange agendas – and the Daily Mail,” he said.

“Most people who know about modern pop culture know about GTA and like or dislike it on its own merits.”

Houser added: “I think we are both depressed at how boring we really are and how unexciting even the worse fabrications and exaggerations are when you read about them.

“None of it seems very rock and roll, so we find it a little sad, when there are probably better stories that could be written about both us and the industry/medium.

“No sharks, groupies or pounds of coke or anything fun at all. We read like angry dorks, which might be true, but is certainly not very exciting.”

I’d be pretty chuffed if the Daily Mail hated me, to be honest. It’s when they start liking you that you have to worry.

The Mail gave GTA IV 5/5 in their review!

Blerk, as a gamer you can pretty much be assured that the Daily Mail hates you.

When asked his opinion of Blerk, Daily Mail editor Paul Dacre responded “meh!”

When asked about his opinion of Blerk, Daily Mail editor Paul Dacore followed up ‘meh!’ with ‘We hate people who play these video games that turn our society into an intolerant, violent, and savage pit. We should not tolerate this, and burn him alive while dancing around the flames!’

BTW, Blerk, your ‘punches air/punches hooker’ comment almost made me snot all over my monitor. Completely classic!
