Burnout Paradise hitting PSN this autumn

Burnout Paradise will release as a completely downloadable game on PSN this autumn for the silly cheap price of $30.

“Our mission at Criterion is to provide the most entertaining gaming service possible,” said the developer’s studio boss, Fiona Sperry.

“In order to do that, it’s key that we have the ability to deliver content to players in ways that work for them – through quick and easy download or via traditional bricks and mortar.

“For us, the fun is in playing the game with friends and constantly discovering new surprises in the world. Download packs with meaningful new gameplay are the perfect way for us to keep entertaining fans and keep them playing, even months after launch.”

If you don’t already own it, you’d be a bit daft to not get the constantly expanding racer this time round, frankly. Press release after the link.

Holy crap that’s cool! Decent price, too. I’ve just got my Burnout License on my rental copy and am thinking it would be a good game to own – may hang on to see if the download version hits SCEE PSN

Christ… now I HAVE to buy this too.

    :( / :D

    Read: £30 UK price

  4. Whizzo said:

That is quite clearly one of the best bargains in PS3 gaming.

  5. Syrok said:

Even 30 pound would be a good price, obviously not as good as the 15 pounds the US will have to pay, but still.

  6. Psychotext said:

Can pick this up for under £25 new in the UK… so that’s the price they should be looking at beating.

  7. Syrok said:

But this is SCEE we are talking about, they seem to be living at least 12 month in the past.

  8. Psychotext said:

    Expect £35 then. ;)

  9. No_PUDding said:

Nah… I will buy from the US store then :P

But I am so impressed. Microsoft was touting DD and now there’s thigns like Siren, and Warhawk and Quest for Booty for PSN.

I don’t get it, the irony is bubbling up.

    Like raiiiiiiin.

  11. ecu said:

It won’t be £30 on the UK store, no way. I reckon it’ll be £19.99.

  12. Rhythm said:

That’s my guess too, Ecu. The dollar-to-pounds conversion on PSN is usually pretty fair

Looks like the death of retail wasn’t greatly exaggerated after all.

    This is great news!
On the other hand, I love my game-disc collection (64 so far) and hate to see it stop growing.

I really wish the PS3 will also have a “disc to HDD install” like the upcoming 360 experience. This way all my games could eventually be on a HDD some time in the future without having to buy them via PSN or XBL-MP.
