“We have enough game ideas to do about 10 ‘Geo Wars’ games”, says dev

Speaking with MTV Multiplayer last week, Bizarre Creations dev Stephen Cakebread said that the team has “enough game ideas to do Geometry Wars for probably about ten games.”

According to the piece, a small team at Bizzare “is now focused on working on the future of Geometry Wars, though future plans are secret.”

Manager Craig Howard added: “Geometry Wars is definitely a franchise, it’s not going to stop.”

Just quit while you’re ahead! There’s nothing wrong with that.

That’s what EA said after FIFA ’96. And probably what Core said after Tomb Raider 2.

Bring it on Bizarre, bring it on. It’s sad that Geo Wars 2 is the most fun I’ve had playing a video game since … Geo Wars 1.

Thing is, one game was great, two games…alright…three games, pushing things a bit…now what – after Geo Wars, Geo Wars Retro Evolved, Retro Evolved 2, Waves etc – where is there left to go?

Don’t get me wrong, I love a bit of old skool arcade action but milking the gnat’s teats until they’re all dried up is never a great strategy.

Still, didn’t stop ‘em with PGR did it :)
