Well… there are 2 million PS3’s in Japan.

So 7.35% of PS3 owners bought it. Great if the suer base were larger.

But MGS isn’t all that popular in Japan anyway. With development costs what they are these days, I can’t imagine Sega’s too happy about Valkyria.

And it may be a new IP, but since it tanked the first time around, I doubt it’ll be anything more than a one-off unless it does well in Europe and America.

147,000 copies isn’t exactly a ‘bomb’. It’s not great by any shakes, but considering how few PS3s there actually are in Japan and the fact that most people don’t seem to buy any software for them, it’s no bad. MGS4 only did half a million copies and that’s apparently the biggest game in the universe. Valkyria, on the other hand, is a brand new IP.

Don’t expect it to do well in Europe, btw. The Americans might buy a few. But not many.

Better buy it, becuase it will be an unsung success and be worth a few in the future if it sold badly.

Poor Sega, that game looks awesome. Wanna see the NA and EU sales now, when it finally comes here.
