John Carmack talks Quake Live and Tech 6 at QuakeCon

Eurogamer's posted a precis of John Carmack's QuakeCon 2008 keynote, which includes more than its fair share of quotes on the upcoming web-based, free-to-play shooter Quake Live, including why it isn't a full boxed product and how in-game ads work with the title.

There's some stuff in there on id Tech 6, Carmack's opinion on the length of the current console cycle and more. Nothing earth-shattering from the look of it, but it's John Carmack, so that's fine. Take a look.
