Update: Figures here.
Sony’s announced first quarter results this morning, confirming that 1.56 million PS3s were sold in the three months ending June 30.
The figure for PS3 sales last year was around 700,000.
PSP sales stood at 3.72 million for the quarter, with PS2 sales at 1.51 million for the same period.
Almost 23 million units of PS3 software were sold in the quarter.
All detail here, though cash figures are lacking. We’ll post them soon.

Not bad for a quiet quarter, I guess. That’s world-wide, right?
When do we get figures for the other two?
Psychotext said:
Yeah, worldwide. Nintendo should be pretty soon, MS was a while ago.

Were they? I remember them claiming their first yearly profit a little while back, but I don’t remember seeing any unit sales figures. Remind me, Statto.

MS data:
Jul-Sep 2006 0.9 Million
Oct-Dec 2006 4.5 Million
Jan-Mar 2007 0.5 Million
Apr-Jun 2007 0.7 Million
Total 6.6 Million
Jul-Sep 2007 1.8 Million
Oct-Dec 2007 4.3 Million
Jan-Mar 2008 1.3 Million
Apr-Jun 2008 1.3 Million
Total 8.7 Million
That should be pretty much right.

I should really dig up the PS3 data to compare shouldn’t I?
Well screw you, you can do it yourselves!

If you look at the latest quarter, there’s really not that much in it, is there? Especially when you consider that that includes the MGS4 hardware bump.
