Eidos UK marketing boss John Brooke’s told MCV that Tomb Raider: Underworld will be the Christmas smash gaming’s tit-happy heroine’s been gagging for.
“It is a major release for Eidos and it is genuinely exciting to see Lara back in time for Christmas, so we can see exactly what she’s capable of,” he said.
Brooke added: “Since moving to a studio-led business model this is the first game to really benefit from our new business ethos and everyone here is committed to making it a huge success.
“With Tomb Raider: Underworld we feel we are really nailing it; our community is buzzing, our first game assets are really hot, the game code has wowed retailers and press alike and our numbers are supported by years of heritage boosted by our first synchronised all formats ship at Christmas.”
GO LARA. More through the link.

I dunno… I’m really looking forward to this, but there doesn’t really seem to be any sort of ‘buzz’ surrounding it. Maybe that’ll change at Leipzig, but it really does seem to have gone under the radar for most people at the minute.

Defo looks like it’s worth a rental, may even purchase it. I thought Legend was excellent, but was put off by the underwater sections.

Looks good, but I have a worrying feeling they’re going to abandon what was good in Anniversary, and go back to all-action, motorbike-riding, army-fighting Lara of TRL. I know that Amanda returns, and I really hope the fights against other humans are kept low. It’s a constant worry in Tomb Raider games.
