Future Wii-motes might include Motion Plus

Nintendo designer, Katsuya Eguchi said in a roundtable with journalists at E3 today that the company is looking at including MotionPlus technology into future iterations of its Wii-mote.

“As to looking at whether or not it will be an attachment or built in – we’re always looking at how hardware should evolve and where we should take it,” said Eguchi.

However, “it might be good to keep it as an attachment we only use for certain software,” he said. “Unfortunately I don’t have a definite direction to give you today, but it’s something we’ll be looking at.”

Thanks, Eurogamer.

Hmm

Nice way of making sure your customers have to buy one. I mean we’ve already seen nunchuk-specific titles, I can see motionplus specific ones being next…

Wouldn’t it make more sense to do both options?

Create an attachment for the current market, but also include it in future models of the WiiMote
