Roger Daltrey was “bored quickly” by Rock Band

The Who’s Roger Daltrey has told CNN that he became “bored quickly” with Rock Band. Says the piece:

“The Who recently licensed downloadable tracks for the video game Rock Band. Daltrey said he tried it and got bored quickly. He laments the way technology has shifted how people regularly interact with music, saying the scrapping of long-play records signaled the death of the music industry.”

We’re saying nothing. Thanks, Joystiq.

Lol, I was listening to that song yesterday.

Anyway, you have to understand that Daltrey is on a much different level musically. Sure, musicians play music video games, but usually it get’s boring quick. You don’t get the chance to create. Instead, it’s very repetitive and can become combersome after a while. Not saying that those games are bad, but you have to take his statement into context. He’s been performing for over 30 or so years.

It’s like having Nadal and Federer willingly offering to be cooped up in a living room to play Wii Tennis instead of any of the courts at Wimbledon? Doesn’t make sense. Just standing there looking at a screen can cause these pros to be complacent while they play. That’s all. Don’t dwell too deep in this guys.

i can in part understand where hes coming from

how many people press play on and album and listen to it from start to finish

however a rock band’d song has got to be better than a fuzzy ringtone
